WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Adrian College Bulldogs are ranked second in the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I women's poll with only Liberty University coming out ahead of them, setting a program milestone in the process. The Bulldogs also find themselves ranked one spot ahead of regional rival Miami University (Ohio).
"I am very proud of our young women for achieving the highest ranking in program history and continuing to work hard everyday," second-year Adrian coach Brett Berger said.
The Bulldogs have had a strong start to the season with a 12-2 record, with their only losses coming to eighth ranked University of Michigan and third ranked Miami University (Ohio). The Bulldogs have yet to face top ranked Liberty University, but will travel to Virginia for a two-game series with them on Friday, February 5, and Saturday, February 6.
The Bulldogs are led offensively by Kallie Hardy and Nicole Paradis who have both amassed 15 points on the season, which is tied for 14th in the nation. Between the pipes Alison Dungey has had a stellar season thus far amassing the third best save percentage in the nation at 94.4, while averaging only 1.08 goals against, which is good enough to be fifth in the nation.
The Bulldogs will look to continue their winning ways as they go on the road to face off with Penn State University in a pair of games on Friday, December 4, at 10:15 p.m. and Saturday, December, 5, at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will then have a month and a half break before hosting Colorado State University on Friday January, 22 at 3:00 p.m.
Defending national champions Liberty University Flames remain at the top of the poll for the second ranking period.
