CHICAGO--The sophomore duo of Brad Kobryn (Burlington, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) and Austyn Roudebush (Toledo, Ohio/Leamington Flyers) from the Adrian College ACHA Division I men's hockey team have been named to the 2015-16 American Collegiate Hockey Association All-America team, the national office announced this week.
Kobryn made the first unit as a forward while Roudebush is a third-team goaltender.
A repeat first-team All-American who was last season's national player of the year, Kobryn again was a finalist for the ACHA's top player in 2015-16. He racked up a Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League-best 36 goals and 18 assists for a second-leading 54 total points in 30 games played, as he made the first unit. He also scored eight power play tallies and led the GLCHL with six game-winners. He was second nationally in goal-scoring.
Selected second-team All-GLCHL, Roudebush compiled a 15-2-3 record with four shutouts, 1.88 goals-against average and league-leading .931 save percentage. He spent 1180 minutes and 20 seconds between the pipes. He was tied for second in ACHA save percentage and fifth in GAA.
With Roudebush and Matthew Schnoes platooning in net, Adrian had the top netminder tandem in the nation as the only ACHA men's program with two ranked in top-5 for GAA.
Adrian wound up 24-8 overall, 17-6 in conference play and made the national tournament.
