ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team scored eight unanswered goals on Friday night after trailing 1-0 to earn its third straight win of the season, downing the visiting Kent State Golden Flashes, 8-1, at Arrington Ice Arena.

Jason Smith tallied the Golden Flashes' only goal to open the scoring in the first, but Adrian's Brad Kobryn scored the equalizer midway through the period, the first of his two goals on the evening. The two points would bring Kobryn's career totals to 131 goals and 65 assists, tying Spencer Bonomo's record of 196 career points in the program's American Collegiate Hockey Association history.

Senior captain Archie McKinnon closed out the first period scoring and put Adrian ahead to stay with a blast from the left point past Kent goaltender Alex Okicki, making the score 2-1 at the first intermission.

Adrian continued to increase their advantage in the second period as Joe Costello added a pair of goals, his third and fourth of the season, and Mike Finger scored an even strength marker to make it 6-1 after two periods.

Kobryn started the third period scoring with his record-tying second goal, followed by freshman Austin Kuhn scoring his first goal as a Bulldog to make the score 7-1. Adrian's Rainer Glimple finished the scoring with a beautiful breakaway goal, set up by Josh Hosking and Finger.

Bulldogs picking up two assists on the evening included Finger, J. P. Grineau and Marcel Kottek. The Bulldogs outshot Kent State 45-20 on the evening, as Adrian net minder Michael Barrett earned his first win of the season making 19 saves.

The #4 ranked Bulldogs (3-0), will head to Kent, Ohio, on Saturday night to face the Golden Flashes again at 7:30. The contest will mark the Bulldogs' first road game of the season.
