ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I men's goaltender and 2018 ACHA Division 1 Player of the Year Austyn Roudebush has signed with Viking HC in the Swedish Division 2 Hockey League, Bulldogs ACHA D-1 head coach Gary Astalos announced recently.

Astalos said, "Our staff could not be happier for Austyn as he signs his first professional contract in Sweden. We were lucky to have him in a bulldog jersey as he is a relentless worker and great teammate. I see him having a bright future in the game and wish him absolutely nothing but the best on and off the ice."

Roudebush started three out of his four years at Adrian and leaves as the ACHA D-1 Bulldogs' all-time leader in goals-against average (1.51), save percentage (.942) and shutouts (17). He finished his senior season with a perfect 22-0-0 regular season record with eight shutouts, posting a 0.91 GAA and .959 save percentage. Roudebush continued his impressive play in the playoffs, going 4-0 with two shutouts, a 1.00 GAA, and a .966 save percentage en route to leading Adrian to its first ACHA Men's D-1 National championship.

Roudebush was very fond of his time as a Bulldog, saying "Over the course of my four years at Adrian I have made many life-long friendships and memories. It is a place I can call home. I wish nothing but the best for upcoming classes as I know they too will have the same result of affection towards Adrian College." Looking forward to his professional career, Roudebush continued, "I am very excited about playing in Sweden. It is a stepping stone that will set the stage for what the future beholds for me in my hockey career."

Viking HC is located in the town of Hagfors, Sweden, and competes in HockeyTvåan, otherwise known as Division 2. They finished sixth in their region in the 2017-18 season. Roudebush is the only former collegiate player on Viking HC and is the only American and one of two North Americans on the roster for the upcoming season.
