ADRIAN, Mich.--The second year of the Brian Thill coaching era for the Adrian College men's and women's cross country teams will feature six meets during the regular season plus the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championships.
The 2017 campaign commences on Friday, Sep. 1 at the Olivet College Fall Opener in Charlotte. Both the men and women had one Bulldog student-athlete finish in the 5,000-kilometer race as team standings were not kept in 2016.
Next up, the Bulldogs will compete at the Division I-hosted University of Detroit Titan Invitational in Northville on Saturday, Sep. 9.
The following week, Adrian will travel to Tiffin, Ohio, for the Heidelberg and Tiffin universities Invitational which will be co-hosted by the Division III Student Princes and D-II Dragons, respectively.
The Bulldogs wrap up the month of September with a Saturday, Sep. 30 date at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational in Mt. Morris, N.Y., which follows a bye week.
Adrian ushers in October on Friday the 6th when the Bulldogs return to Michigan for the Lansing Invitational in Grand Woods Park.
The Bulldogs will conclude their regular season docket on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio. The meet is hosted by NCAA III Oberlin College and will serve as a tune-up for the Bulldogs' preparation for the MIAA meet.
After an idle week, Adrian resumes action on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the MIAA Cross Country Championships.
The Bulldogs will have another bye to train for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov. 11. The event will be hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.
If the Bulldogs qualify, they will compete the following week at the NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
The Bulldogs should be more experienced as they are scheduled to return 21 student-athletes combined on the men's and women's rosters from last fall.
