Bulldogs Rally Late But Run Out of Time at Heidelberg, 82-78

TIFFIN, Ohio - Three Bulldogs--DaVonte Harris, Daton Aaron and Isiah Crofford--scored double digit points as Adrian's late rally fell just short on the road against Heidelberg, 82-78.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half: Heidelberg 36, Adrian 34

Adrian started fast, building a lead off a 10-2 run in the first four minutes of the game, the largest lead of the game for the Bulldogs.

• The Student Princes rattled off nine straight points to gain their first lead of the game, 11-10 with 13:28 left to play in the first half.

• Both teams would trade leads for the remainder of the half with neither team building a lead larger than two points.

• Heidelberg would go into the locker room with a 36-34 lead over the Bulldogs.

• Adrian went 15-32 (46.9%) from the floor, 2-7 (28.6%) from behind the arc and 2-2 (100%) from the free throw line.

• The Student Princes shot 14-24 (58.3%) from the floor, 4-9 (44.4%) from three point territory and 4-6 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.

• There were six ties and nine lead changes in the opening half.

Second Half: Heidelberg 82, Adrian 78

•  The Bulldogs would tie the game, 44-44, for the final time in the game before Heidelberg built their largest lead of the game, 69-57, with just 7:41 remaining in regulation.

• Adrian would continue to battle, keeping the score within 10 points for the majority of the final minutes, but the Bulldogs ran out of time before they could complete the comeback.

• Adrian finished 33-70 (47.1%) in field goals, 5-18 (27.8%) from three and 7-12 (58.3%) from the free throw line.

• The Student Princes were 32-67 (47.8%), 8-25 (32%) and 10-16 (62.5%).

TOP DOGS

Harris scored a game-high 22 points on 8-19 shooting. He went 4-13 from three and a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe while contributing three rebounds and three assists.

Aaron contributed on offense, scoring 19 points, shooting 8-13, 1-3 and 2-2. He also hauled in three rebounds, dished two assists and registered two steals.

Crofford tallied 18 points on 9-14 shooting. He racked up 14 rebounds, a game-high, to record his first double-double of the season.

Anthony Cannon helped with eight points and four rebounds. Justin Webster scored seven points and seven rebounds.

THE OPPOSITION

• Six Heidelberg players scored double digit points in the winning effort.

• Mike Mason led the team with 10 rebounds.
