Aaron Tiknis comes to Adrian College from North Central College in Naperville, IL where he both played and coached for the past eight years. During his time as a player, Aaron helped guide North Central to three consecutive years of conference championships (two regular season CCIW titles and two CCIW Tournament championships) as well as back to back NCAA Tournament appearances. As a player, during the 2011-2012 season Aaron led the team in three-point percentage, assists, blocks and rebounds. That same season the Cardinals won both the regular season title as well as the CCIW Tournament, the first time in school history. The Cardinals advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen to end that campaign. Tiknis was a team captain for the 2012-2013 squad which reached the NCAA Division III Final Four. He ranks third in North Central history in career blocked shots, sixth in assists and seventh in three-point percentage. In his 3 years at North Central the Cardinals compiled a 34-8 record in CCIW play.
As a coach, Aaron assisted in bringing the North Central program back to the national spotlight. North Central made the NCAA Tournament in each of the past three consecutive years, a first in program history. During his time as the program’s “Big man” coach, NCC has had a first team All-Conference big man all 5 years, including one All-American.
Aaron also attended and played at Wheeling Jesuit University (WV). He has coached and served as camp director in Chicagoland for Bulls/Sox Academy Summer Camps, Mercury Elite AAU, and the Glen Ellyn Titans. Aaron received his BA in sports management from North Central College.
