BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--Adrian College junior punter Connor Storms (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth High School) has been chosen to the D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, the organization announced late Monday on its website.
Storms, who earned his second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week citation in as many weeks on Monday, lands on the national team as the only punter for the first time in his Bulldogs career. He is the second Adrian special teams player this season to be named to the D3football TOW as placekicker Cameron Cook received the honor in Week 1.
During a 28-21 non-conference win over visiting Lakeland, he averaged a whopping 54.7 yards on three punts, including a career-long 69 yards in the third quarter.
With 164 punting yards against the Muskies, Storms now has 4,692 for his career to cement his No. 6 place on the school's all-time chart. Next up on the list is No. 5 Craig Barnes who compiled 5,470 yards on 153 attempts from 1989-92.
On the season, he lists second in the MIAA with a 41.5 punting average--good for 35th nationally in NCAA Division III. He also leads the conference with nine punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Storms is a criminal justice major with a minor in health.
