Freshman Vinny Post Nets First Career Goal in Adrian Debut as @ACBulldogHockey Draws St. Thomas, 3-3

ADRIAN, Mich.--Freshman Vincent Paquette continued his hot scoring streak and classmate Vinny Post potted his first career goal in his collegiate debut, but it wasn't enough as Adrian College salvaged a 3-3 overtime tie with visiting University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Sunday.

THE BASICS

= Location: Weston Rink at Arrington Ice Arena; Adrian, Mich.

= Records: Adrian Bulldogs 6-1-1, St. Thomas (Minn.) 4-2-3

FOR ADRIAN
= Sophomore goalie Kevin Entmaa made 28 saves and was credited with his first assist of the season.

= Paquette finished with a goal and an assist to go along with a plus-2 and three shots on goal.

= Post started the season out with an injury and made an immediate impact scoring the Bulldogs' final goal. He had two shots on goal.

THE OPPOSITION
= Brett Gravelle led the Tommies with a goal and an assist.

= Goalie Andrew Rohkohl came in relief to keep the Tommies in the game, stopping all 21 shots he faced over the last 54 minutes and 5 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals 6:14 apart from sophomore Trevor Boyd, Paquette and Post. Boyd (4 shots on goal) started it all with a nifty backhander from the right face-off circle that beat starting goalie Devin Tappenden off the inside of the post.

= Gravelle put UST on the board with a power-play tally with 75 seconds left in the first period.

= In the second period, Thomas Williams cut the deficit to 3-2 midway through when Ben Jentsch poked a pass up ice to Williams and he skated in on Entmaa to feather the puck between the pads. The goal came with the Bulldogs on the power play.

= The Tommies pulled Rohkohl in favor of an extra attacker to get the tying goal with 31 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Johnny Panvica scored off a rebound shot by Gravelle.

= In the five-minute extra session, both teams had opportunities to score. Adrian held a 6-2 shots on goal advantage in the frame.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= St. Thomas leads the all-time series over Adrian 1-0-1 after winning the first matchup, 3-1, back on Nov. 27, 2011, also in Adrian.

= Paquette has a seven-game point-scoring streak since going scoreless in the season opener. Over the last two contests, he has totaled five points on two goals and three assists. For the season, he leads Bulldog freshmen with four goals, six assists and 10 points--fourth overall on the squad. Unofficially, he also netted a goal against the U.S. Under-18 National Team in an exhibition.

= Entmaa also was credited with an assist during his 2015-16 freshman campaign.

= Adrian was held to a season-low 28 shots on goal and outshot by an opponent for only the first time in 10 outings, dating to last season.

= The Bulldogs extended their unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) and are 19-4-2 in the months of October/November under third-year head coach Adam Krug '12.

= This afternoon marked the first Sunday game hosted by Adrian since Nov. 30, 2014, against Neumann University.

UP NEXT
= After a five-game homestand, Adrian resumes conference play Dec. 2-3 at Finlandia in Hancock, Mich.
