Taylor McCloy's Shorthanded Goal in Third Period Lifts @ACBulldogHockey to Road Sweep at Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis.--Junior forward Taylor McCloy scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway to score the game-winning goal in a 2-1 road victory for the Adrian College men's hockey team over Lawrence University in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action on Saturday evening.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Sophomore Cory Dunn also scored for the Bulldogs.

= Classmate Kevin Entmaa (9-5-2 record) had 21 saves in the Adrian cage.

= Senior Michael Hoy and sophomore Connor Armour each had an assist.

THE OPPOSITION
= Josh Koepplinger scored the Vikings' lone goal.

= Goalie Evan Cline made 46 saves on 48 shots faced, keeping Lawrence in the game.

= Carson Knop and Evan Ketner each contributed an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian enjoyed a huge advantage in shots on goal, 48-22, keeping the Lawrence defense on its heels the whole night.

= With Adrian killing off a LU power-play opportunity, Hoy sprung McCloy for an up-ice pass and McCloy broke a 1-1 deadlock at the 4:30 mark into the third period.

= Koepplinger put the Vikings on the scoreboard six minutes into the second stanza.

= Dunn got the scoring under way for the Bulldogs, who were on the power play. Armour found Dunn open for his seventh goal of the season with only 68 seconds left in the first period. 

= In the second period, Entmaa preserved a 1-1 tie when he stopped a LU skater on a partial breakaway as the Bulldogs were on a power play.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian improves to 20-0-3 in 23 all-time meetings against the Vikings. The visitors are 8-0-2 lifetime in Appleton.

= The Bulldogs have won four in a row on the road overall and are 8-0 in NCHA away games this season. Dating back to the 2015-16 campaign, Adrian has been victorious in its last 10 conference road games.

= Dunn has tied sophomore Trevor Boyd for the AC scoring lead with 27 points apiece. Dunn now has a career-high seven goals after scoring six as a freshman, and he also leads the Bulldogs with 20 assists.

= Ketner registered his first career assist for the Vikings.
