HOW IT HAPPENED
= Junior transfer Bryce Van Horn staked Adrian to a 1-0 lead 2 minutes and 36 seconds after the opening face-off when he pounced on a Plattsburgh turnover on a blind backpass behind the Cardinals goal. Van Horn collected the puck and skated across the mouth of the goal to tuck a shot inside the right post.

= The Bulldogs made it 2-0 on a two-on-one goal by Yim 2:21 later. Senior Braden Hellems poked the puck from center ice to Balsamo, who fed a left-wing saucer pass for Yim in the middle of the ice to shoot it into the back of the net.

= With 2.9 seconds left, Entmaa kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard in the first period when he made a sparkling glove save off Matt Araujo's rebound shot while sprawled on the ice. Adrian was on the penalty-kill.

= In the second stanza, the teams traded goals. Plattsburgh cut Adrian's lead to 2-1 just 43 seconds in off the stick of McCartney. But at the midway point, McNair restored the two-goal cushion on assists from sophomore Dean Hewines and Balsamo.

= The Cardinals scored another early goal to start a period as McCartney took a feed from Kuhn to find the back of the net at 21 seconds into the third. Adrian led 3-2.

= The Bulldogs iced the win with goals by Balsamo and senior Trevor Boyd later in the period. After taking a pass from McNair, Balsamo skated to the right face-off circle where he wristed a shot past the goalie's right shoulder. Six minutes later, Boyd had an empty-net tally with 27 seconds to go.

= Adrian held Plattsburgh scoreless on five power-play opportunities.

= Adrian is the highest-ranked "visiting" invitational team to visit the ShootOut, which is hosted every third year by Middlebury, Norwich and Plattsburgh on a rotating basis.

= Yim has a four-game scoring streak in which he has totaled five goals and three assists for eight points. On the season, he leads Adrian with 10 goals and 14 points.
