Adrian’s lightning attack silences Thunder

ADRIAN, Mich. – The men's lacrosse team (10-3, 5-0) remained undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a 14-4 win over Trine University (7-7, 3-2), Saturday afternoon- setting up a showdown at Albion next Saturday to decide the regular-season MIAA champion.

The Bulldogs scored seven goals in each half in a game they never trailed in. Adrian outshot the Thunder, 38-26, and had an edge on shots on net as well, 23-18.

Cody Kilcoyne and Mitch Burgin were the top point getters with five apiece.

Kilcoyne led the team in goals with three, while Burgin, Drake Dailey-Chwalibog, and John Hudzinski each added a pair on the afternoon.

Single tallies were scored by Colton Brunk, A.J. Smith, Matt Desveaux, Connor Ryan and Nicholas Frontczak.

Frank Badalamenti had four groundballs, followed by Brandon Parnham, Marcus Rossetter, and and Tom Thielman with three each.

Kevin Lerg made 14 saves and improved his record to 9-3 in the cage.

Next week's road game at Albion is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
