Burgin and Boyd Lead Bulldogs to 14-4 Win at Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. – The men's lacrosse team traveled to Elmhurst on Saturday afternoon and took care of business in a 14-4 win over the Bluejays. Adrian led 7-2 at halftime and then outscored Elmhurst 6-1 in the third quarter cruising to the 10-goal win.

Mitch Burgin scored five goals and added an assist for the Bulldogs. He scored once in the first quarter and twice in the second and third quarters. Doug Boyd finished with a career-high five assists including assists on four straight goals in the first and second quarters. Eric Fannell added four goals to run his season total to 11. He scored twice in the first and once in the second and third quarters. Zach Kozlowski registered two assists and won 12-of-16 face-offs on the day. Brendan Harvey scored twice on six shots on net. A.J. Smith also notched a goal as did Tom Thielman and Drake Dailey-Chwalibog.

The Bulldogs are now 2-1 overall and finished the game with 40 ground balls compared to 20 for the Bluejays. Kevin Lerg played 45 minutes in net and was replaced by Brett Farrelly for the fourth quarter. Lerg made four saves while Farrelly had three.
