Duncan's Five Goals Propel Bulldogs to a Win Over Wittenberg

ADRIAN, Mich. - Wittenberg hung around in the first half before the Adrian Bulldogs Women's Lacrosse team pulled away in the second half on its way to an 18-11 win. The Bulldogs are now 10-2 on the year and the undefeated leaders at the top of the MWLC conference.

The Bulldogs were able to score the first four goals of the contest, but Wittenberg was able to answer. The Tigers made the score 4-2 midway through the first half, and closed the half scoring three of the last four goals as it was a 6-5 lead for Adrian at halftime.

After Wittenberg tied the score 6-6, the Bulldogs decided to go on a run. Junior Olivia Duncan scored four of her five goals in the second half, as Adrian was able to put the game out of reach. Stacy Birlson, Rachel Johnston, and Amanda Lambert all added three goals for Adrian, as the Bulldogs doubled-up the second half scoring 12-6 on Wittenberg.

Goalie Laura Finfrock earned her eighth win of the season, as she saved 13 shots on the game. For the game, the Bulldogs went 7-for-12 on free-position shots, including 4-for-4 in the second half.

Adrian now will have a week off before having two games on the upcoming weekend. On April 14th, the Bulldogs will play Fontbonne at 1:00 pm, followed by a game at Sacred Heart Academy (Ky.) against Sewanee on April 15th, also at 1:00 pm.
