Dominant First Half Leads to 17-6 Win at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – The women's lacrosse squad made a first-half statement on the road on Wednesday in brutal weather conditions leading 11-2 at the break. The team went into cruise control in the second half and won 17-6 in wind gusts of 24 miles per hour making the wind chill 18 degrees.

Adrian outshot Oberlin, 30-20, including 18-11 in the first half. Adrian also had the edge in groundballs 25-20. The Bulldogs had 11 draw controls and were also 13-of-19 in clear attempts. Oberlin scored three of their six goals on free-position shots and was 3-of-7 for the game. Adrian saw the Yeowomen commit 19 turnovers.

Adrian scored the game's first eight goals with the last one coming at 10:46. Senior Olivia Duncan scored four goals and added two assists with seven shots on net. Senior Stacey Birlson had nine points with three goals and six assists. Junior Hannah Early scored three goals and also had four draw controls. Freshman Nichole Laflamme scored two goals in her first game with the team.
