Vikings Trip Up Bulldogs In Home Opener

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs opened at home Saturday afternoon as they took on the Augustana College Vikings. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead and carried a 12-6 advantage to the break. The Bulldogs fought back in the second half as they looked to even the score, but the Vikings seemed to match every Bulldog goal as Adrian fell, 21-10. This loss drops the Bulldogs overall record to 1-2.

The first half saw the Vikings jump out to an early 5-0 through the first 11:12 of the game. The Bulldogs would fight to get back into the game as Brianna Plester led the Adrian attack with three first half goals. Maddie Dugan, TaShina Salas and Sarah Connelly each added a goal to fuel the Bulldog offense but the Vikings seemed to answer each offensive surge as they left Adrian at a 12-6 first half disadvantage.

Adrian started the second half strong as Christine Campbell scored unassisted at the 23:50. Augustana then answered with three straight goals to leave to Bulldogs behind, 15-7, with 18:04 remaining.
