No. 14 Brockport State Takes Down Adrian, 20-7

 Brockport, N.Y. – The Bulldogs travelled to take on the 14th ranked Brockport State Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles came out strong as they jumped out to a 12-3 halftime lead over the Bulldogs. Adrian battled back in the second half but Brockport State proved to be too much as they outscored the Bulldogs 8-4 in the second half and dropped Adrian, 20-7. This loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-4 on the season.

The first half saw the Golden Eagles score the first three goals of the game as Adrian fell behind early, 3-0, with 18:37 left in the half. Adrian then responded as Hannah Early scored unassisted at the 17:54 mark to cut the Bulldog deficit to two goals. Brockport State then countered with seven straight goals as Adrian fell behind by nine goals with 6:48 left in the half. The Bulldogs finished the first thirty minutes strong as Early scored her second of the game and TaShina Salas scored unassisted. The Golden Eagles controlled the game after the first half, 12-3.

The second half saw the Brockport State take the first two goals before Hannah Early scored her third of the game unassisted at the 23:19 mark to leave the score, 14-4, in favor of the Golden Eagles. Brockport State would score the next four goals of the game but the Bulldogs would continue to battle. Brianna Plester scored from Maddie Dugan and Salas scored her second of the game unassisted as the scored read 18-6 in favor of Brockport State with 9:32 remaining. Adrian continued to fight as Christine Campbell scored from Dugan at the 3:41 mark but the Golden Eagles prevailed as they took down Adrian, 20-7.

Jul Tehovnik (1-4) made the start in goal as the made 11 saves and recorded one ground ball.

Hannah Early led the Bulldogs with three goals, four ground balls and three draw controls. Briana Plester scored one goal, recorded two ground balls, forced two turnovers and compiled a game-high 12 draw controls.

The Bulldogs will see action again when they host Keuka on Friday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
