ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team took on Kalamazoo College Tuesday night and they controlled the Hornets through the entire game as they rolled to a 25-9 victory. This win advances the Bulldogs to 5-5 on the season and 3-0 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs came out hot and they continued this momentum though the entire first half. Adrian scored the first five goals of the game and did not look back on their way to a convincing 18-4 first half lead. Hannah Early scored seven first half goals while TaShina Salas added four, Maddie Dugan scored three and Brianna Plester scored twice to accompany three assists. Christine Campbell and Lydia Reedy each scored to cap the first half charge by the Bulldog offense.
The second half saw the Bulldogs maintain their lead as they outscored the Hornets 7-5 for the half and maintained their double digit lead for the entire second 30 minutes. Early and Salas each added two more goals, Plester and Dugan each scored again, and Nicole Laflamme tallied a goal. The Bulldogs controlled the Hornets to a 25-9 win.
Jul Tehovnik (5-5) earned the victory as she made six saves and recorded two ground balls.
Hannah early scored nine goals, added three draw controls, two ground balls and caused three turnovers. Brianna Plester scored three goals, added three assists and earned 12 draw controls. TaShina Salas scored six goals, recorded two assits, compiled four draw controls, two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
The Bulldogs will see action again Saturday, April 12 when they travel to St. Mary's for a 1 p.m. start.
