Women's Lacrosse Starts Season with Loss at Augustana (Ill.)

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The women's lacrosse team took on Augustana (Ill.) in their first game of 2015 on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs took on the Vikings in a rematch of their 2014 NCAA First Round tilt that saw the Vikings advance past Adrian with a 22-14 victory.

The Vikings jumped out on the Bulldogs with a 13-0 halftime lead as they took out Adrian 19-1. The Bulldogs battled Augustana as they forced the Vikings into 13 turnovers while recording eight ground balls as a team. Alison Dungey made her first career start in goal for Adrian as she totaled four saves for the game. The Bulldogs would fight to stay in the as TaShina Salas scored unassisted in the second half that saw Austastana out score the Bulldogs, 6-1.

Adrian now stands at 0-1 on the season and will see action again on March 17 in their home opener when they host Wittenberg at 6 p.m.
