HOW IT HAPPENED

The first half was a scoreless affair with the ball spending a lot of time in midfield changing possession.

Adrian came out strong in the second half, opening the match's scoring just three minutes into the second frame on a goal from freshman Sarah Brannan. There was a scramble in front of the Calvin net and sophomore Mya Oleksiak was able to knock the ball to Brannan who slid it through a mess of bodies and past the keeper for the score.

Junior goalkeeper Ayverie Giller made a spectacular save in the 75th minute to keep the game at 1-0. The Knights took a screamer from the top of the box and Giller was able to get her hand on it to send it safely over the bar.

Despite being outshot by the Knights 17-10, the Black and Gold were able to put more on net, with a shots on goal advantage of 5-2. Calvin was ranked No. 24 by D3 Soccer heading into the match.
