Eighteen Adrian College Softball Players Earn NFCA All-Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -  18 Adrian College softball players were among the record-breaking 7,351 softball players that the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) announced for All-Academic Honors for the 2016-17 academic year.

NCAA Division III had 1,825 student-athletes--the second-most, behind only NCAA Division I--with a 3.5 or higher grade-point average.

The Bulldogs 18 honorees are tied with Franklin and Marshall College for the most student-athletes from a single team in all of Division III. The 18 mark also sets a new school record for Adrian, topping last year's record-setting 15. 

As a team, Adrian was tied for 66th in NCAA DIII with a team GPA of 3.4.

Seniors: Kayla Belfiori (3rd), Kallie Derrer (3rd), Katie Jenkins (3rd), Mikayla Kemp (1st), Kaitlin Lock (1st), Chelsea Shellman (3rd).

Juniors: Phoebe Cole, Rebecca Neal (2nd), Paige Van Atta (3rd), Taylor Van't Land (3rd). 

Sophomores: Paige Cubberly (2nd), Krista Lynch (2nd), Natalia Younan (2nd).

Freshman: Madison Budde, Maggie Foss, Hope Kapelanski, Destiny Rogers, Infinity Rogers.
