ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College junior shortstop Ryan Dorow (South Haven High School) and sophomore Tommy Parsons (New Albany, Ohio) have been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week #4 and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Pitcher of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.
As the nation's top player at his position this week and the only MIAA representative on the Bloomington, Minn.-based D3baseball.com TOW, Dorow led the Bulldogs with an .800 slugging percentage as Adrian started 2-1 on the season. He homered in two straight games and added a double as he finished the week with a .333 (5-for-15) batting average. Defensively, he did the job as well perfectly with 15 chances without an error.
Parsons posted a 1.13 earned-run average with six strikeouts in eight innings over two appearances. He struck out six batters and allowed just three singles in six scoreless innings of work in his first start of the year on Saturday, which was a 22-1 win over Blackburn.
This season, Parsons has yet to issue a walk and his 1.13 ERA ranks tied for third in the MIAA (and is the best for pitching eight or more innings).
