HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was closely contested with Adrian holding a three-point lead with 6:30 to go in the half. Albion would storm back in the closing minutes and led 32-22 at the break. Sophomore guard Sam Colbert led the Bulldogs in the first half with nine points, all coming on shots from behind the arc. Colbert also led AC in rebounds after the first 20 minutes, coming down with four boards with one on the offensive end.
Adrian came out determined to erase the deficit in the second half and made it quite the ball game. The Bulldogs threatened, cutting the Britons' lead to two points with under a minute remaining. The comeback wouldn't come to competition and Albion held on for a 63-57 victory.
• Colbert led the Bulldogs' offense with 19 points while junior forward Jeremy Kalonji dropped in 16.
• Junior forward Ke'Shaun Wyatt-Morris was all over the place grabbing rebounds, finishing with nine boards, four of them being offensive rebounds.
• Caden Ebeling and Jaylin Fordham led the way for Albion with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
• Ebeling and Quinton were collected the most rebounds in the contest, bringing down 12 and 11, respectively.
The Bulldogs return home for a pair of games at Merillat Sport and Fitness Center later this week. Hope comes to town Wednesday, Feb. 6 for a 7:30 p.m. tip and the Comets from Olivet will visit Adrian on Saturday, Feb. 9 with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
