WEST CHESTER, Pa.--The Adrian College Gold team affiliated with American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III was well-represented for various postseason awards at the conclusion of the 2015-16 campaign.
Senior Myles Maltz (Mattawan, Mich./Coulee Region Chill) headlines the list as he was named second-team all-region, All-Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference East First Team, and MCHC Dream Team member. The right winger poured in team highs of 34 assists and 48 points in just 22 games played, ranking fourth in league assists and sixth in point-scoring.
Adrian also had three student-athletes place second-team All-MCHC East, including junior forward Nick Bordeaux (Warren, Mich./Michigan Travelers Titans), sophomore forward Jack Clary (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and junior goaltender Justin Lindgren (Hanahan, S.C./Concordia- Wis., NCAA Division III). Bordeaux had scoring totals of 13+15=28 and Clary was second for the Bulldogs with 38 points on 13 goals and 25 assists. Lindgren posted an 11-4 record, 2.59 goals-against average, three shutouts and .917 save percentage between the pipes.
Seven members of the Bulldogs squad played for MCHC Red in the ACHA All-Star Challenge: junior defenseman Mitch Bancroft (Jackson, Mich./Lakeshore-St. Joseph's High School), senior defenseman Mario Tomei (Livonia, Mich./Adrian Black, ACHA), sophomore defenseman Max Ohr (Dingolfing, Germany EV Moosburg), sophomore forward Max Egan (Howell, Mich./ Howell Highlanders), Bordeaux, Clary and Lindgren.
Egan (30 points) paced the AC offense with 15 goals and eight on the power-play.
Adrian Gold coach Max Gavin led the MCHC Red team into the all-star game, where Red lost a tough overtime game, 3-2, to MCHC Blue. The Red finished the tournament with a 4-1 record and outscored opponents 36 to 13.
