ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team lost to the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the Bulldogs' home opener on Wednesday, Sep. 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was a scoreless affair, with neither team able to find the back of the net after 45 minutes. Adrian looked the better team, outshooting the Wolverines, 8-2.
But UM-Dearborn would get on the board first, scoring in the 62nd minute to break the tie. The Wolverines doubled their lead shortly after, scoring again in the 72nd minute to make it 2-0.
The Bulldogs responded quickly, and cut the deficit in half just 23 seconds after UM-Dearborn's second goal. Sophomore Dylan Mines fired a shot from beyond midfield that beat the keeper for Adrian's lone goal.
Despite heavy pressure in the last 15 minutes, the Black and Gold could not find a way to put another ball in the net. The Bulldogs outshot the Wolverines 21-5 on the day, and earned five corners to UM-Dearborn's zero
• Mines scored the only goal of the game for the Bulldogs.
• Senior Tad Davis led Adrian in shots, taking five in the contest.
• Jack Barnet and Chad Schmerheim scored for UM-Dearborn
• Alex Siluk was busy in net for the Wolverines, making 10 saves in the game.
The Bulldogs are back in action at home again on Sunday, Sep. 16 when they host Transylvania at 2 p.m.
