HOW IT HAPPENED
Adrian had a chance to open the scoring just 13 seconds in, as senior Tad Davis sent a shot just past the far post. Davis and the 'Dawgs wouldn't have to wait much longer to get on the board, as he found the back of the net in the 10th minute to give Adrian the lead. Davis took a shot from outside the box that bounced off the left post, then the right post before trickling in for the goal.
The Bulldogs doubled their lead 10 minutes later, as sophomore Jordan Miller converted on a penalty kick in the 20th minute. Miller was taken down in the box and placed the ensuing penalty into the top left corner past the keeper.
Adrian would get one more before halftime, when senior Zachary Roller fired a shot from the top of the box into the top left corner in the 32nd minute. Alma failed to clear the ball past Roller who made no mistake putting the ball away to give AC a 3-0 lead at the break.
The Black and Gold came out firing in the second half, as Davis was able to get his second goal of the game in the 58th minute. Davis stole the ball from the defender and ran up the right wing before taking a shot from inside the box that bounced in off the far post.
Davis wouldn't be the only senior to net two goals on Senior Night, as Roller tallied his second of the match in the 73rd minute. Roller had a cross blocked but was able to pick up the loose ball and get past his defender to send a rocket into the top right corner of the net to make it 5-0.
The Bulldogs would get one final goal before the match ended, when freshman Grant Perrine put one past the keeper in the 76th minute to make it 6-0. Perrine received the ball in the box from senior Brandon Katona and took one touch before taking a quick shot that beat the keeper.
