HOW IT HAPPENED
It took less than four minutes for the Bulldogs to take control of the contest, posting their first tally of the game at 3:32. Squires sent a shot onto goal, which was deflected by the Thunder goalkeeper, with the rebound cleaned up by Logan Thomas. This is Thomas' first-collegiate goal.
Adrian extended its lead to two, with a goal by Squires 15 minutes later. The goal was the result of Brendan Koziol sending a pass from the left side of the box, drawing the goalie, to Squires who put it on a nearly-empty goal.
Thomas looked to pen his name onto the stat sheet once again, putting a strong shot on-goal, as he gathered a rogue ball in front of the goal, putting a quick rip on-goal, where the goalie was able to make the save by dropping to his knees.
Trine put the notions of a shutout to bed, as it put a shot on-goal in the 72nd minute, which was stopped by Spencer Brown, but almost immediately put into the back of the goal to make it a one tally game, 2-1.
AC posted the final goal of the game with 11 minutes remaining on the clock, as Garrett Miller was able to take the ball from a goalkeeper way out of the zone, and send it unto an unguarded net.
Brown spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs, making two stops.
- Senior Brad Squires led Adrian on the stat sheet, posting three points on an assist and the game-winning goal.
- Classmate Garrett Miller with his impressive insurance goal, his team-leading sixth of the season.
- Goalkeeper Spencer Brown posted two saves in his 10th win of the season.
The Bulldogs hit the road on Saturday as they travel to Alma for a 2:30 p.m. MIAA contest.
