HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite leading the shot count in the opening minutes of the contest, it was not AC who collected the first tally. It was UWRF who benefitted on a bar down shot to lead 1-0 with 12:24 remaining in the first period.
The Falcons were able to extend their lead to two as they found the back of the net again two minutes later, this time on the power play.
Adrian looked to dig its way out, posting a tally of its own in the final two minutes of the middle period. As its power play came to an end, Nicole Guagliardo fed the puck to Jessica VonRuden at the left point which was saved and bounced back into play. It was freshman Une Bjelland who cleaned up on the rebound and made it a one goal game.
UWRF posted a pair of scores in the final period, one of which came on the man-up, to shut down the Bulldog comeback.
It was Jandova who earned her second start of the weekend, making 22 saves in 46:45 played, before being relieved by Mia Glassco. Glassco collected four saves of her own.
Denisa Jandova was named to the Panther/Cardinal Classic All-Tournament team after collecting 67 saves over the course of her two games played, with 22 coming in Sunday's contest.
Une Bjelland owned the Bulldogs' lone tally of the game, her fourth of the season. She now ties for second on the team in this category, leading the freshman class.
Adrian returns home for a pair of conference contests with Aurora , starting on Friday with a 7 p.m. puck drop.
