ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Adrian has been chosen as the preseason favorite to win the first Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse championship.
The Bulldogs, who won the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference championship last year and
advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament, received six of a possible seven first-place votes
in the preseason poll of MIAA coaches. Hope, who was picked to finish second, received the other first-place vote. Coaches could not vote for their own teams.
This year marks the first season the MIAA is sponsoring women's and men's lacrosse as conference sports.

MIAA women's lacrosse teams begin non-conference play Feb. 23, with the league season beginning Apr. 2. The season will conclude with a four-team conference tournament to be played May 2 (semifinals) and May 4 (championship).
