HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs looked to assert their dominance early, with two back-to-back corner kicks by Caroline Fleming, with the second finding its way across the box to Angela Davis, who then put it net front for Eve Davis to score on at 12:55.
Fleming recorded her second point of the night, successfully pulling the goalie outside the box, before feed it to E. Davis who was able to capitalize on a nearly unguarded goal in the 18th minute.
Fleming closed out the half and scoring for the Bulldogs, scoring on her own corner kick, bouncing off the hands of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Page made a huge save in the 69th minute, stopping the MIAA Senior Sportswoman of the Year, Libby Munoz's penalty-kick.
The junior was able to stop the Hornet's second penalty-kick with 10 minutes remaining in the contest.
Adrian's goalkeeping staff combined for six saves, Giller recording two and Page with four. Giller was able to add the win to her record.
"I couldn't be more proud of this group for everything that they've accomplished over the past two seasons, but especially this year. They had to win with a target on their backs every single day, but they never settled for anything but success."
"For these seniors in particular to have taken a team that finished in 7th place in the MIAA in 2016 to now three straight MIAA trophies, it's almost unbelievable. Their goal was to become the greatest team in school history, and I don't know if you can argue with their results. It's an honor to be associated with this group of champions."
- Eve Davis, who had the first two goals of the contest, one of which was the game-winner.
- MIAA Most Valuable Player Caroline Fleming with her four points on a goal and a pair of assists.
- Goalie Kristen Page who was 2-for-2 going up against penalty-kicks, letting up just one goal during shift.
With this win, the Bulldogs will move onto the NCAA tournament. Their fate will be decided at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the selection show on NCAA.com.
